Hi, this is Cruisin Al and I am glad you stopped in. Entertaining you Saturday nights has been the most rewording experience of my life.   Playing the music you suggest along with a mix of my own favorites, is what the Saturday Night Sock Hop is all about. Inside my website you will find information on me back to when I was a wee little lad through my radio career.  Also, you can see photos of some of my past events and a photo gallery of some of the top entertainers who visit the show, some special ones of Hubcap and of course, me.  If you want me to host a party that you are planning, you will be able to contact me direct through the website. Over the years I've had an opportunity to meet some really neat people.  Me and Wolfman Jack were at KLUV doing a show at the Fort Worth Stockyards for the Fat Stock Show event.  Chuck Brinkman and I went out there together to do the spot.  I guess I have an " every man"  face.  When Wolfman autographed a photograph for me--I still have it at home; he wrote a mention of meeting me in some town I've never been to, but who cares, I got my autograph.

I even have a newspaper photograph with Dick Clark.  Chuck Brinkman had asked a number of DJs to spin records for Dick and they seemed to be intimidated--he got no takers.  Chuck ask me and I said "yes." I was still just an intern.  The station manager had given me firm instructions, telling me to keep my eyes up so that when Mr. Clark walked into the room I could be playing Mary Wells, his all-time favorite singer.

So, I see him and start the Mary Wells platter spinning on the turntable. I see the celebrity walking towards me and he gets closer and says, "Thank you for playing that. How did you know that was my favorite?"  I responded, "I wish I could take credit for that, but it was the program manager."  He continued to thank me and was a very pleasant person.

I had an album with me laying next to my turntables.  Mr. Clark had produced the album with American Bandstand.  I wanted him to sign it and he was very accommodating.  He glanced at the album while autographing it and said, "I'll sign this on one pretext--that you never show the album to anyone ever!"  He hated that photo of himself!
